SYB seminar at Università degli studi di Catania

SYB’s CEO Marco Toja and CTO Mark Phillip Loria, presented SYB to the IT engineering course at Università degli studi di Catania.

The seminar was structured in the following way:
-the first day, held by our CEO, was more focused on the start-up world, on what you need in order to create a start-up and how SYB started.
-The second day, held by our CTO, was more a practical workshop. The students were divided into groups and were given different tasks about a common start-up idea: develop a multi-features wearable device, for the healthcare sector, and launch it on the market. The different departments in which the groups were divided allowed them to develop their idea and have a full and complete picture of what had to be analysed regarding the start of a start-up.
The feedback was extremely positive as well as the level of participation of the students who demonstrated it by several smart and interesting questions.

We thank for this opportunity and for the organization prof. Michele Maugeri, prof. Vincenza Carchiolo and prof. Natalia Trapani.

SYB at Insurance Nexus - Connected Insurance Summit

SYB‘s CEO Marco Toja and COO Federico Capello, attended the Connected Insurance Summit in London to present, pitch and demonstrate the potentiality of the IoT technology applied to insurance and re-insurance industry.

The event, that counted more than 300 innovators, is the perfect place to interact with industry and insurance leaders and understand current market trends.

Our CEO gave a speech (“Data vs. smart data: how to make the change happen in real life” in the “Strategy and innovation” track) about smart data focusing on the idea that thanks to a “white box” architecture insurances can define critical parameters and act as agents of prevention by keeping the risk within the forecasted levels.
A lot of interest emerged during his speech and many questions were raised during the Q&A session where, together with Matthias Soren Wegmuller (Die Mobiliar), Kristen Gronborg (Alm Brand) and Tony Boobier, kept the audience involved and focused about the relevance of the topic.
Given the big success of this edition, the board will surely be attending the Connected Insurance USA Summit in Chicago, next November

More about the Connected Insurance EU Summit:
With 250+ attendees in 2017 and 300+ expected in 2018, the Connected Insurance Summit Europe is THE premier business gathering for innovation, product and strategy leaders, who are pioneering connected products and services for insurance.

See Your Box and SIPBB together to innovate

See Your Box has signed a partnership with Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB), one of the newest Innovation Parks of Switzerland, primarily focused on Industry 4.0.

We joined the Swiss Smart Factory program at SIPBB, to be able to offer live demos of our product. In this way we can create awareness about the digitalization of the supply chain and demonstrate that the need for reliable data on which decisions are based is crucial.

The Swiss Smart Factory in Biel/Bienne launched last year, represents the first test and demonstration platform for Industry 4.0 in Switzerland. Since then, the number of industrial partners and visitors have constantly increased, allowing SYB to benefit from a huge visibility, from innovative start-ups to big corporate.

This cooperation represents a big step forward for SYB because it brings us to the frontline of the Industrial IoT top players.  For this reason, we would like to thank Andreas Fries, Dominic Gorecky and Anita Jorg from SIPBB who invited us to strengthen our collaboration. Their contribution has been much appreciated.

See Your Box at Hannover Messe 2018

SYB is the selected partner of the ICT delegation of Switzerland at the Hannover Messe on April 25th.

www.hannovermesse.de

The ICT, specialized in the digital economy, brought us to meet a selected number of high flyer companies out of the 5000 exhibitors, such as Accenture, Atos, Novartis and Buehler.

Mark Phillip Loria, SYB’s CTO comments are:

“This is one of the best B2B fairs in Europe. Great snapshot of the increased need for information collection and data management from the automation and manufacturing industry.”

Hannover confirms that the digitalization of the supply chain from end-to-end is the next business frontier.  Industry has grown thanks to statistical data analysis based on complex mathematical models, today it’s time to have real data, lots of reliable information filtered by a precise context.

We are confident that SYB’s solution fits with the incoming demand from the market and provide companies with the information they really need.

SYB’s system architecture at FedCSIS 2017

A SYB device in Prague
A SYB device in Prague
See Your Box has again accomplished the impossible. An impressive paper on its leading storage technology has been published by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the largest association of technical professionals in the world, and has been presented during the FedCSIS 2017 conference last September in Prague.

This is not just an article, it is a technical paper that was possible thanks to the tight collaboration between See Your Box and the University of Catania, i.e. Prof.ssa Vincenza Carchiolo and Prof. Michele Malgeri.

Abstract:

IoT applications has some characteristics that set it apart from other fields mainly due to the multitude of different types of sensors producing data. In monitoring applications, data processing requires real-time or soft real-time responses in order to aid systems to make important decisions but also predictive analysis to leverage the potential of IoT by data mining vast datasets. This paper presents an architecture developed to efficiently process and store data coming from an huge number of distributed IoT sensors. The back-end of SeeYourBox services is currently based on the proposed architecture that has proven to be stable and meet all the requirements.

See Your Box and University of Catania at WorldCIST 2018

Mark Loria, our CTO, presenting See Your Box’s solution at the WorldCIST ‘18”
Mark Loria, our CTO, presenting See Your Box’s solution at the WorldCIST ‘18”

On Tuesday 27th of March See Your Box was in Naples to attend the WorldCIST ’18, the World Conference of Information Systems and Technologies.

A SYB device in Naples
After successfully passing the selection process, we have been invited to present an academic paper, realised in collaboration with some professors and researchers from University of Catania (prof. Vincenza Carchiolo, prof. Lucio Compagno, prof. Michele Malgeri, prof. Natalia Trapani, Marialaura Previti), Department of Engineering, regarding the application SYB’s IoT real-time monitoring solution for Home-Based Oxygen Therapy.

This remarks once more the impressive results See Your Box is achieving in different verticals and the strength of our system architecture, which has been recognised many times also in academic and highly specialised environments.

Abstract:

IoT based systems are significantly different from other mainly due to the multitude of parameters they can monitor and/or control. In medical home-care, these systems can make the whole service supply chain more efficient and safer. We discuss the case study of home-care oxygen therapy where continuous monitoring systems allow real-time access to critical data of clinical process and logistics, resulting in new levels of knowledge about the oxygen delivery process: actual oxygen consumption, system maintenance needs, deviations from the Therapeutic Plan defined by the physician. This paper presents the architecture developed to manage the oxygen therapy service efficiently focusing on the oxygen cylinder. It is able to communicate differently with the different actors, depending on its status and position, and conveys the information to the person/company that will need accurate and timely information to ensure the success of the entire medical process.
