See Your Box has again accomplished the impossible. An impressive paper on its leading storage technology has been published by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the largest association of technical professionals in the world, and has been presented during the FedCSIS 2017 conference last September in Prague.

This is not just an article, it is a technical paper that was possible thanks to the tight collaboration between See Your Box and the University of Catania, i.e. Prof.ssa Vincenza Carchiolo and Prof. Michele Malgeri.

Abstract:

IoT applications has some characteristics that set it apart from other fields mainly due to the multitude of different types of sensors producing data. In monitoring applications, data processing requires real-time or soft real-time responses in order to aid systems to make important decisions but also predictive analysis to leverage the potential of IoT by data mining vast datasets. This paper presents an architecture developed to efficiently process and store data coming from an huge number of distributed IoT sensors. The back-end of SeeYourBox services is currently based on the proposed architecture that has proven to be stable and meet all the requirements.

On Tuesday 27th of March See Your Box was in Naples to attend the WorldCIST ’18, the World Conference of Information Systems and Technologies.

After successfully passing the selection process, we have been invited to present an academic paper, realised in collaboration with some professors and researchers from University of Catania (prof. Vincenza Carchiolo, prof. Lucio Compagno, prof. Michele Malgeri, prof. Natalia Trapani, Marialaura Previti), Department of Engineering, regarding the application SYB’s IoT real-time monitoring solution for Home-Based Oxygen Therapy.

This remarks once more the impressive results See Your Box is achieving in different verticals and the strength of our system architecture, which has been recognised many times also in academic and highly specialised environments.

Abstract:

IoT based systems are significantly different from other mainly due to the multitude of parameters they can monitor and/or control. In medical home-care, these systems can make the whole service supply chain more efficient and safer. We discuss the case study of home-care oxygen therapy where continuous monitoring systems allow real-time access to critical data of clinical process and logistics, resulting in new levels of knowledge about the oxygen delivery process: actual oxygen consumption, system maintenance needs, deviations from the Therapeutic Plan defined by the physician. This paper presents the architecture developed to manage the oxygen therapy service efficiently focusing on the oxygen cylinder. It is able to communicate differently with the different actors, depending on its status and position, and conveys the information to the person/company that will need accurate and timely information to ensure the success of the entire medical process.
